				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I keep receiving email asking for a wiimote to midi script for Mac.. Unfortunately I don&#8217;t use Macs (they are really nice, but too expensive..) so I can&#8217;t really help or develop anything for Apple addicts..</p>
<p>But here&#8217;s a compilation of the existing tools you can find online to use your Wii controler as a midi device on your Macintosh:</p>
<p><strong>WiiToMidi</strong> allows you to convert signals from a Nintendo Wii controller to MIDI signals.<span id="more-133"></span> It is a Cocoa application for Mac OS X and uses the <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/darwiin-remote/">DarwiinRemote</a> WiiRemote framework to decode Wii controller signals. It also supports the Nunchuk controller.</p>

<p><strong>OSCulator</strong> is a new powerful interface engine (unfortunately not open) which allows you to connect and control different multimedia devices, remaining at the same time flexible and easy. This software uses, as the name already says, the <a href="http://opensoundcontrol.org/"><span style="color: #36414d;">OSC technology</span></a> (Open Sound Control), a protocol specifically designed to support fast and effective communication between computers and multimedia devices, lightweight and highly configurable.<br />

<p><strong>DarwiinRemote</strong> is a tiny software which reads data from and sends data to Nintendo Wii Remote (aka. Wiimote).<br />

<p><strong>WiiFlash</strong> is a nice server / client application, to use your wiimote to control flash projects. The Mac version is now available.<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following the post I did about using nintendo&#8217;s <a href="http://crustea.vjfrance.com/article-130714.html" target="_blank">wiimote as a MIDI controller</a>, I had loads of emails about the same issue: People using the popular music sequencer <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ableton_Live" target="_blank">Ableton live</a>, couldn&#8217;t setup rotation and acceleration MIDI adresses properly, as the wiimote constantly sends many values, and using ableton&#8217;s auto detect function is getting a bit crazy..<br />
<span id="more-113"></span></p>
<p>I just made a new Glovepie script to make things a bit easier, and send each value separately.<br />
Now when you use the MIDI autodetect function, you need to Press:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>- F1, F2 or F3 to get the wiimote X, Y or Z rotation value.<br />
- F4, F5 or F6 to get the X, Y or Z acceleration values.</strong></p>
<p>When this is done, <strong>you need to Press the B button to activate all these midi values (acceleration/ rotation)</strong>, and you can still use all the buttons to trigger loops, effects etc..</p>

The above link is a <a href="http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie_download" target="_blank">Glovepie</a> script, you need to follow <a href="http://blog.antivj.com/2007/wiimote-to-midi-english-version" target="_blank">this tutorial</a> to use it.</p>
<p>This is quite a basic update, but I know that this is gonna help some of you, and I&#8217;ll do my best to do a proper update (with infrared positioning, internal speaker and force feedback).</p>

<p>The team behind the VJ Software &#8220;<a href="http://www.garagecube.com/modul8/" target="_blank">Modul8</a>&#8221; organised in Geneva the third edition of <strong>Mapping</strong>,  their <a href="http://www.mappingfestival.com/" target="_blank">audio-visual festival</a>: a great audio lineup (including the amazings <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=0PqvDwBOp9Y" target="_blank">Birdy Nam Nam</a>) and a very dense program, with exhibition, VJ sets, talks and workshops.<span id="more-111"></span></p>
<p>The festival took place mainly in 2 venues: the BAC (Contemporary Art Builbing) with installations, ehxibition and talks during the day, and <a href="http://www.lezoo.ch/" target="_blank">le Zoo</a>, and great club for events during the two weekends.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>A great atmosphere, and a very good opportunity to meet other visual artists, and talk with a very unusual audience at the BAC (kids and grannies..).</p>
<p>I did a Workshop about the Wiimote to Midi, a VJ set for the D&amp;B night, and a mapping on some large cubes built by Cube3, from Geneva.</p>

<p>My highlights were: <a href="http://www.crea-composite.net/francais/mapping07.html">3Destruct AV installation</a> by Lego_man and some friends, an immersive 3 dimensions piece, very impressive and a real experience.<br />
Exyzt did a <a href="http://www.exyzt.net/tiki-index.php?page=MappinG" target="_blank">nice installation</a> at the Bac, and an interesting VJ set with Wireless live cam.<br />
Clandestine did a <a href="http://www.mappingfestival.com/mapping2007/artist_links/paysages_s/paysages_s.html" target="_blank">nice A/V</a> set with pheek, with hypnotic minimal geometric shapes, messing up with color perception, and retinal persistence..</p>
<p>Also, very good stuff from <a href="http://www.mappingfestival.com/mapping2007/artist_links/narrativelab/narrativelab.html" target="_blank">Narrative Labs</a>, <a href="http://www.mappingfestival.com/mapping2007/artist_links/vscratch/vscratch.html" target="_blank">V-scratch</a>, <a href="http://www.mappingfestival.com/mapping2007/artist_links/sigma6/sigma6.html" target="_blank">Sigma6</a>, <a href="http://www.mappingfestival.com/mapping2007/artist_links/quayola/quayola.html" target="_blank">Quayola</a> and many more..<br />

It started really well with a VJ set for a <a href="http://www.batofar.org/imgup/urbanClash_big.jpg" target="_blank">Breaks</a> gig at <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/66/191717417_58855f026c_o.jpg" target="_blank">the Batofar</a> in <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&amp;hl=fr&amp;q=batofar+paris+france&amp;sll=37.0625,-95.677068&amp;sspn=30.544155,60.732422&amp;safe=vss&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=48.833317,2.379251&amp;spn=0.000773,0.001853&amp;t=k&amp;z=19&amp;iwloc=addr&amp;om=1" target="_blank">Paris</a>, where they had an <a href="http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&amp;videoid=1916624912" target="_blank">all new video setup</a>, thanks to the resident VJs, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/qualityscreen " target="_blank">Qualityscreen</a> and <a href="http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&amp;friendid=57933571" target="_blank">VJ Eye</a>. I only managed to take <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/183/487310628_64b0e13283.jpg" target="_blank">one picture</a>, as I was pretty busy trying to get my <a href="http://blog.antivj.com/category/wiimote" target="_blank">wiimote</a> to work..<span id="more-107"></span></p>

<p>Then after a few days in Rennes, my hometown, I headed to Lille for <a href="http://www.paysages-electroniques.com/" target="_blank">Paysages Electroniques</a>, a great festival founded by 2 VJs, Céline et Jérôme from <a href="http://www.zelabo.com/new.htm" target="_blank">zelabo</a>. The audio lineup was pretty cool, with a Mutek night with Akufen, also Yuksek, Cuizinier, and the visual booking was wicked, with probably the best VJ <a href="http://www.paysages-electroniques.com/programme2.php" target="_blank">lineup</a> I&#8217;ve seen so far (or at least my favorite).</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Among the highlights:<br />
- The Audio visual performance: <strong>Aviorama</strong> from <a href="http://www.mifop.de/" target="_blank">MFO</a> (his <a href="http://www.clubtransmediale.de/index.php?id=4378&amp;0=" target="_blank">vjset at clubTransmediale</a> in January was already impressive) his a &#8220;must see&#8221; in the few good A/V acts. The 12:3 <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/227/484554267_10d9c9f8c6.jpg" target="_blank">Multiprojection</a> was also very effective !<br />
- <a href="http://sanchtv.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Sanchtv</strong></a>, performed for the first time on a <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/221/484534504_27513bbb9d.jpg" target="_blank">superwide 4 screens setup</a>. He also solved the technical problems we had when he came at <a href="http://blog.antivj.com/2007/cuisine-4-video-report" target="_blank">cuisine #4</a>, by buying a <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/230/484534496_dbb882a985.jpg" target="_blank">realtime-processing monster</a>, which allows a <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/192/484534500_93bad22a7e.jpg">4096&#215;768 render</a> at 60fps with <a href="http://www.vvvv.org" target="_blank">vvvv</a>. - <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/208/487274053_34a4781070.jpg" target="_blank"><strong>Aalto</strong></a> and <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/219/487259740_ca0a7f0e8d.jpg" target="_blank"><strong>Ratsi</strong></a> played on sunday, both with their very personnal style and self-produced material, and did a great use of the 2X 8:3 format (thanks to the vga scaler) and did a &#8220;<a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/198/487269071_e85f8e4399.jpg" target="_blank">jam</a>&#8221; at the end, mixing and melting their visuals..</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I did a mapping installation, using some <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/181/486347063_60a4fbc960.jpg" target="_blank">strange furniture</a> of the club to project on. It was actually a bit tricky, as the room was <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/220/486347081_a85b6b744e.jpg" target="_blank">very bright</a> during the day, but I finally managed to <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/220/486347081_a85b6b744e.jpg">do the mapping</a> and work on some <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/171/486347085_d4fe673efb.jpg" target="_blank">minimal visuals</a>. My first installation with projections of all the sides of the cubes, I&#8217;ll probably carry on this way, to actually <a href="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/168/487253077_31a41322b5.jpg" target="_blank">&#8220;skin&#8221; object</a>..</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following a large amount of emails I received, I decided to translate in english my <a href="http://crustea.vjfrance.com/article-127406.html" target="_blank">recent post</a> dedicated to the new Nintendo&#8217;s toy . Released in December 2006, the last console of the Japanese brand, the Wii, claims to be revolutionary by its new user interface, the Wiimote (hydrid of gamepad, remote control and movements sensor ), which completely changes the manner of playing by putting at contribution the player, who can from now interact more naturaly with the game, rather than simply press buttons.<span id="more-97"></span></p>

<p><strong>How does it work?<br />
</strong>In addition to the traditional buttons, force feedback and the integrated mini-speaker, the true innovation is the presence of a gravity and acceleration sensor (the <a href="http://www.analog.com/en/prod/0%2C2877%2CADXL330%2C00.html" target="_blank">ADXL330</a>, used in the army or automobile safety, for airbags systems) inside the Wiimote which collects the movements and acceleration of the Wiimote on each of the 3 axis, <a href="http://www.wiili.org/images/4/4e/Pyr.png" target="_blank">X, Y et Z</a>.</p>
<p>The good news is that rather than using a proprietary protocol to transmit the infos from the Wiimote to the Wii, and then lock its hardware to keep an exclusive use of it, Nintendo has made the excellent decision (probably by commercial will) to use the <a href="http://admin.vjfrance.com/FCKeditor/editor/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth" target="_blank">Bluetooth</a> protocol, standard of communication on PC and Mac for several years. This means that you can connect your Wiimote to your computer, and  program it rather simply for any use you want.</p>

<p>In this Post, we will learn how to connect Wiimote to a PC, and how to transform the values received into MIDI signals, to be able to control any VJing software (like <a href="http://www.arkaos.net/software/vj_download.php" target="_blank">Arkaos</a>) or production/live audio (<a href="http://www.ableton.com/" target="_blank">Ableton</a> to mention only one of them).</p>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong>:<br />
- A <a href="http://e3.britishgaming.co.uk/2006/nintendo/wii/wiimote.png" target="_blank">Wiimote</a>, of course (approximately £20/35$, <a href="http://search.ebay.co.uk/wiimote" target="_blank">online</a> or at your local  video games shop).<br />
- A <a href="http://www.accessories-review.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/USBBluetoothDonglewith100meterworkingdistance.jpg" target="_blank">Bluetooth Dongle</a> (if your computer doesn&#8217;t have Bluetooth already, about £10/15$).<br />
- Bluesoleil (<a href="http://www.bluesoleil.com/download/index.asp?topic=bluesoleil_edr" target="_blank">shareware</a>, it usually comes for free with Bluetooth dongles).<br />
- GlovePie (<a href="http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie_download" target="_blank">freeware</a>).<br />
- MidiYoke (<a href="http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm#Download" target="_blank">freeware</a>, required for MIDI).</p>
<p><strong>Connect your Wiimote to your PC</strong>:<br />
Once your dongle installed, your Wiimote unpacked and filled with fresh batteries:<br />
<strong>1 -</strong> Launch Bluesoleil (a grey icon appears in the taskbar, and then becomes blue once once the Bluetooth dongle initialized. Now, double-click on the <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil.jpg" target="_blank">blue icon</a></span></span> to launch the program)<br />
<strong>2 -</strong> You have to enable the &#8220;detection&#8221; mode: press simultaneously buttons 1 and 2 of your magic remote (LEDs start to flicker).<br />
In Bluesoleil, start &#8221;device detection&#8221; by clicking on the <a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil.jpg" target="_blank">orange sphere</a> in the middle.<br />
<strong>3 -</strong> Your Wiimote has been detected, and <a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil2.jpg" target="_blank">appears as an icon</a> in Bluesoleil, now you must activate the communication: select the wiimote icon (1 click) and then click on  &#8221;<a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil3.jpg" target="_blank">HID service</a>&#8220;, the mouse icon. if the connection is capricious, you might have to press simultaneously buttons 1 and 2 again,<br />
If all occurs well, you should see a small animation which means a successful connection.</p>
<p><strong>Interpret the signals:<br />
</strong>The Wiimote is now connected, and sends its signal to your PC, but it is not being interpreted yet. This is where <a href="http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie" target="_blank">GlovePie</a> will be helpful, to convert the signals received and return them to your favorites softwares and games.<br />
Indeed, the software developed by Carl Kenner has the role of converting any type of signal (from a mouse, Joystick, a P5 glove) into another signal (MIDI, variables&#8230;) using a simple scripting language and/or a GUI.</p>
<div id="result_box" dir="ltr">Now, start GlovePie (version 0.29 to date). By default, the freeware opens on the empty script editor. Fortunately, there are loads of scripts provided with the install: for example, load<em> WiimoteScripts/WiiMouse 0.1.PIE</em>, and click on <strong>RUN</strong>, and you can now control your mouse cursor with your Wiimote. Also, you have to try <em>Drummerkit</em>, and then you can play &#8220;air battery&#8221; <img src='https://blog.antivj.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </div>
<p><strong>Midiiiiiii !</strong><br />
So, now it gets exciting.. Everything is now ready, the last thing to do is to install <a href="http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm" target="_blank">MidiYoke</a> (a virtual MIDI port, which emulates a MIDI device to use like a &#8221;bridge&#8221; with your midi softwares) then download and launch this Glovepie <a href="http://www.antivj.com/wiimote/Wiimote2midi_0.2_en.PIE" target="_blank"><strong>script</strong></a>, which will finally enable you to get the Wiimote movements to any software supporting midi.</p>
<p>In the latest version beta0.2, you get the  of  X, Y and Z slope value from your Wiimote, which are converted into  #CC values 30, 31 and 32, variables from 0 to 127, which allows you to scratch a video or to fade it up and down by waving your Wiimote in the air. Also you must test it with Ableton, the results are very surprising, especially on the live effects!</p>
<p>As you can see, the buttons are mapped to &#8220;midi notes&#8221;, and allows you to launch events very simply. You can also send keyboard events instead, or change midi notes values depending on your needs. The script is now comented in english, and I will keep updating it this way.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s still a bit basic, and there are many extra things possible, so the next steps will be to use acceleration sensors, use the sensorbar, and also use the Nunchuk (the second gamepad available), and maybe connect more wiimotes for multi-user interaction&#8230;<br />

Sortie en décembre 2006, la dernière console de la marque Nippone, la Wii, se veut révolutionnaire par sa nouvelle interface utilisateur, la Wiimote (un hydride de gamepad, de télécommande et de capteur de mouvements), qui change complètement la manière de jouer en mettant à contribution le joueur, qui peut désormais &#8220;mimer&#8221; les actions (tennis, combats..) plutôt que de simplement presser des boutons.<span id="more-95"></span><br />
<strong>Comment ça marche?<br />
</strong>Outre les classiques boutons, retour de force et le mini haut-parleur intégré, la vraie nouveauté est la présence au coeur de la Wiimote, d&#8217;un capteur d&#8217;accélération et de gravité (le <a href="http://www.analog.com/en/prod/0%2C2877%2CADXL330%2C00.html" target="_blank">ADXL330</a>,  jusqu&#8217;alors utilisé dans l&#8217;armée ou dans la sécurité automobile, pour les systèmes d&#8217;airbags) qui capte donc les mouvements et l&#8217;accélération de la Wiimote sur chacun des 3 axes <a href="http://www.wiili.org/images/4/4e/Pyr.png" target="_blank">X, Y et Z</a>.</p>
<p>La bonne nouvelle, c&#8217;est que plutôt que d&#8217;utiliser un protocole propriétaire pour transmettre les infos de la Wiimote à la Wii, et ainsi vérrouiller son hardware pour en garder un usage exclusif, Nintendo a pris l&#8217;excellente décision (probablement par volonté commerciale) d&#8217;utiliser le protocole <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth" target="_blank">Bluetooth</a>, standard de communication sur PC et Mac depuis plusieurs années. Ce qui veut dire que l&#8217;on peut connecter sans problême une Wiimote à son ordinateur, et en utiliser pleinement les fonctionnalités assez simplement.</p>

<p>Dans ce Post, nous allons apprendre à connecter une Wiimote à un PC, et transformer les valeurs reçues en signaux MIDI, pour pouvoir contrôler ensuite des logiciels de VJing (comme <a href="http://www.arkaos.net/software/vj_download.php" target="_blank">Arkaos</a>) ou de production/live audio (<a href="http://www.ableton.com/" target="_blank">Ableton</a> pour n&#8217;en citer qu&#8217;un..).</p>
<p><strong>Matériel necessaire</strong>:<br />
- Une <a href="http://e3.britishgaming.co.uk/2006/nintendo/wii/wiimote.png" target="_blank">Wiimote</a>, bien entendu (environ 40euros, <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=acheter+une+wiimote&amp;rls=com.microsoft:fr:IE-SearchBox&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;oe=UTF-8&amp;sourceid=ie7&amp;rlz=1I7GGIC" target="_blank">sur internet</a> ou en magasin de jeux vidéos).<br />
- Une <a href="http://www.accessories-review.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/USBBluetoothDonglewith100meterworkingdistance.jpg" target="_blank">clé Bluetooth</a> (si votre ordinateur n&#8217;a pas le Bluetooth intégré, une quinzaine d&#8217;euros).<br />
- Le logiciel Bluesoleil (<a href="http://www.bluesoleil.com/download/index.asp?topic=bluesoleil_edr" target="_blank">shareware</a>, souvent fourni gratuitement avec votre clé Bluetooth).<br />
- Le logiciel GlovePie (<a href="http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie_download" target="_blank">freeware</a>).<br />
- MidiYoke (<a href="http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm#Download" target="_blank">freeware</a>, nécessaire pour utiliser le MIDI).</p>
<p><strong>Connecter votre Wiimote à votre PC</strong>:<br />
Une fois votre clé installée, la Wiimote déballée et remplie de piles fraîches:<br />
<strong>1 -</strong> Lancez maintenant Bluesoleil (une icone grise apparait dans la barre des tâches, puis devient bleue une fois la clé Bluetooth initialisée. Double-cliquez maintenant sur <a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil.jpg" target="_blank">l&#8217;icône bleue</a> pour lancer le programme).<br />
<strong>2 -</strong> Vous devez maintenant mettre votre Wiimote en mode &#8220;détection&#8221;. Pour cela, pressez simultanément les boutons 1 et 2 de votre télécommande magique (les LEDs se mettent à clignoter).<br />
Dans Bluesoleil, lancer la détection des périphériques en cliquant sur <a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil.jpg" target="_blank">la sphère orange</a> au centre de la fenêtre.<br />
<strong>3 -</strong> Votre Wiimote à été détectée, et <a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil2.jpg" target="_blank">apparait</a> dans Bluesoleil. Il faut maintenant activer la communication, en sélectionnant l&#8217;icône wiimote (1 clic) puis en cliquant sur &#8220;<a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/bluesoleil3.jpg" target="_blank">service HID</a>&#8220;, l&#8217;icône qui ressemble à une souris. N&#8217;hésitez pas à appuyer une seconde fois simultanément sur les boutons 1 et 2 si la connection est capricieuse.<br />
Si tout se passe bien, vous devriez voir une petite animation qui symbolise la connection réussie.</p>
<p><strong>Interpréter les signaux reçus:<br />
</strong>La Wiimote est maintenant connectée, et envoie son signal à votre PC, mais il n&#8217;est pas encore interprété. C&#8217;est maintenant que <a href="http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie" target="_blank">GlovePie</a> intervient, pour convertir les signaux reçus et les renvoyer à vos applications et jeux favoris.<br />
En effet, le logiciel développé par Carl Kenner a pour mission de convertir tout type de signal (d&#8217;une souris, d&#8217;un Joystick, d&#8217;un gant P5) en un autre signal (MIDI, variables..) à l&#8217;aide d&#8217;un langage de script simple et/ou d&#8217;un GUI.</p>
<p>Lancez donc le logiciel GlovePie (version 0.29 à ce jour). Par défaut, le freeware s&#8217;ouvre sur l&#8217;éditeur de script vide. Heureusement, il existe quantité de script fournis avec l&#8217;install: chargez par exemple <em>WiimoteScripts/WiiMouse 0.1.PIE,</em> et cliquez sur <strong>RUN</strong>, et vous pouvez maintenant contrôler votre souris grâce à votre Wiimote.. A tester également, <em>Drummerkit</em>, pour faire de l&#8217; &#8220;air batterie&#8221; <img src='https://blog.antivj.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Midiiiiiii !</strong><br />
Bon, maintenant que tout est prêt, il ne nous reste plus qu&#8217;à installer <a href="http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm" target="_blank">MidiYoke</a> (un port MIDI virtuel, qui va simuler un périphérique midi pour faire la passerelle avec vos logiciels midi) puis téléchargez et lancez <a href="http://crustea.free.fr/blog/wiimote/Wiimote2midi_0.2.PIE" target="_blank"><strong>ce script</strong></a> Glovepie, qui va vous permettre enfin de récupérer les valeurs midi dans vos logiciels compatibles.<br />
Dans cette version beta0.1, vous récupérez les valeur de l&#8217;inclinaison X, Y et Z de votre Wiimote, qui sont converties en valeur #CC 30, 31 et 32, variable de 0 à 100, ce qui vous permet maintenant de scratcher une vidéo ou faire des fades en déplacant votre Wiimote dans les airs.. Essayez aussi sur Ableton, les résultats sont assez surprenants sur les effets !</p>
<p>Comme vous pouvez le voir, les boutons sont mappés sur des &#8220;midi notes&#8221;, et permettent de déclencher des évênements simplement. Une option pour envoyer des évênements clavier est aussi disponible, et n&#8217;hésitez pas à modifier les touches, le script est commenté.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Un court report d&#8217;une soirée interessante le weekend dernier, à Northampton, une ville moyenne au Nord de <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&amp;hl=fr&amp;q=northampton+uk&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;z=7&amp;ll=52.234528,-0.900879&amp;spn=3.653637,13.07373&amp;om=1&amp;iwloc=addr" target="_blank">Londres</a>.  La soirée s&#8217;apellait <a href="http://vjbattle.com/" target="_blank">VJ Battle</a>, un évênement spécial VJing regroupant une dizaine de VJs anglais, avec une vingtaine d&#8217;écrans /  projections, et également 2 lives Audio Visuels, un programme plutôt alléchant pour tout amateur d&#8217;images en mouvement.<span id="more-76"></span></p>

<p>J&#8217;arrive en fin d&#8217;aprem, après 3h de route, mais pour une fois pas de setup à faire, et les orga se sont bien débrouillés, il ya 16 écrans plasma et 5 projecteurs, le tout cablé à une matrice vidéo, et plus qu&#8217;a se pluger sur les V4 et cablages tout prêts.. Très bonne ambiance, tout le monde est vraiment sympa, et ca échange des kilos de tips techniques, feedbacks de logiciels, commentaires geekies, en tout cas vraiment rigolo comme ambiance.<br />
Setup express, Installation de mon gant midi (première vraie utilisation en live), et on peut filer manger un peu avant de commencer le live / Battle à 11h.</p>
<p>11h30, on est à la bourre, on était en folle discution au takeaway du coin avec hybreed, un des VJ (français) de la soirée.. Le live commence vraiment, la salle clignotte de partout avec le setup monstrueux de projecteurs et de matériel.<br />
Bon le côté négatif était le fait que chacun avait un écran, et que tout le monde jouait en même temps, donc pas pratique pour voir le boulot des autres, et le résultat pour le public était un peu une sorte de bouillie visuelle, c&#8217;est assez dommage. Je préfèrais le principe <a href="http://www.rennet.org/empruntdigital/index.php" target="_blank">d&#8217;emprunt digital</a> ou de la Battle de <a href="http://rock.n.solex.free.fr/?page=vjing" target="_blank">Rock n&#8217; solex</a> ou seuls 2 VJs s&#8217;affrontent en même temps.<br />
Petite coupure de courant dans la soirée, définitivement trop de matos les plombs ont sauté (tiens ca me rapelle une <a href="http://crustea.vjfrance.com/article-93485.html" target="_blank">Cuisine</a> ça..).</p>
<p>Milieu de soirée, les lives A/V vraiment pas convainquant (c&#8217;est plus une expo de matos qu&#8217;autre chose), la musique commence à tendre sur la Hard Trance (pas mon truc) et ca balance du &#8220;tunel 3D&#8221;&#8230;<br />
Heureusement, dans ce moment de flottement, je rencontre deux vjs que je n&#8217;avais pas encore vu, les <a href="http://www.fatamorgana.org.uk/" target="_blank">fata morgana</a>, qui sont en train de s&#8217;activer dans leur coin, autour de 4 projecteurs 8mm, un oscilloscope, avec des ciseaux, du scotch et des filtres de couleurs un peu partout. Ils sont VJs &#8220;analogues&#8221; et n&#8217;utilisent pas de laptop, mais uniquement du &#8220;hardware&#8221;, vieux films 8mm, effets maisons, calages manuel de la vitesse etc.. Génial !<br />
On ne se rend pas bien compte sur les vidéos de leur site, mais en live c&#8217;est vraiment très classe !<br />
Seul bémol, les quelques effets ajoutés avec leur mixer vidéo (une dv filme la projection, et part vers une mixette Panasonic en output).</p>
<p>4h, un peu mal à la tête, mais finalement une très bonne soirée (ahh, je suis passé à côté de la version complète de <a href="http://www.vjamm.com/" target="_blank">VJamm</a>, sigh). La flemme de rester sur place, je rentre à Bristol (et me retrouve en pleine tempête de dingue !!!) mais une très bonne expérience, et du 8mm plein la tête&#8230;</p>
